With A Cardboard Lid

First Cosmetic Tube Made Almost Entirely from Wood Fibres Presented

As part of a joint development project, it was possible for the first time to produce a fibre-based closure for a tube made of fibres. Paper and cardboard manufacturer Stora Enso, closure manufacturer Blue Ocean Closures and machine builder AISA have developed a tube solution that contains more than 85 per cent fibre-based material. The closure alone is said to consist of more than 95 per cent wood fibres. It has a high density and can be decorated. The tube shoulder is made of cardboard and PE. Its fibre content is between 40 and 70 per cent, according to the companies. The new tube was developed for cosmetics and personal care applications and is said to be available on the market in 2024.
