Topics in Tune With the Times: CosmeticBusiness Programme Now Available Online

At the 2024 edition of CosmeticBusiness, more than 400 suppliers will be presenting their trailblazing ideas and sustainable innovations to the cosmetics industry. The conference programme highlights exciting industry trends such as upcycling, greenwashing and consumer behaviour in terms of sustainability. Experts will reveal new ingredients, sustainable packaging solutions and the latest colour and material trends. This time, the programme has a new feature: All talks will be given exclusively in the INNOVATION CORNER alongside the SPOTLIGHT novelty show and the area for cosmetics supply start-ups in Hall 4 at the MOC in Munich.

From practical talks to Spotlight presentations and start-up speakers, the comprehensive programme of this year’s CosmeticBusiness offers numerous highlights. The INNOVATION CORNER brings together all the various formats to provide visitors with valuable inspiration and answers on questions of product development and market strategy.

Top Speakers at the Conference

On the first day of the fair, Alicia Lindner from Annemarie Börlind and trend expert Niels Holger Wien offer fascinating insights. Lindner sheds light on product development at Börlind, particularly the creation of credible natural cosmetic products through innovation, ethics and customer feedback. Wien examines in his presentation the current zeitgeist and its influence on the future of material, color and beauty worlds.

On the second day, Birgit Huber will present the findings of the current IKW study, which examines the influence of sustainability on consumers and the cosmetics industry. Dr Mark Smith from NATRUE will conclude the day with a presentation on the challenges of greenwashing and the importance of clear guidelines for protecting consumers and the environment.

Innovative Start-Ups Present Pioneering Solutions

In the INNOVATION CORNER, start-ups will be providing fresh inspiration for creating the cosmetic products of the future. The start-ups Gaia Tech from Switzerland and Lignovations from Austria will be showing that upcycling is currently a major trend. Gaia Tech will illustrate how agricultural sidestreams can be upcycled to generate valuable new ingredients for the cosmetics industry. The start-up Lignovations from Austria is introducing its product LignoGuard, a biobased multi-purpose ingredient made from upcycled lignin.
