BASF adds new functions to its digital simulator
BASF has further developed its digital sunscreen simulator and equipped it with several new functions. One new feature is the ability to select different formulation types such as oil-in-water, water-in-oil and oils in order to analyze their influence on protection performance. In addition, the tool can now make statements about the solubility of solid UV filters and supports formulators in evaluating the interactions of individual ingredients and optimizing products. Users can also browse through BASF's database of sunscreen formulations and gain access to internally tested prototypes from the company's laboratories.
