Pump System for Online Retail
Aptar Together With HiFlow Aim to Increase Transport Security of Pumps
Packaging manufacturer Aptar Beauty + Home has introduced a pump system that has been developed specifically for online selling. HiFlow E-Commerce boasts a so-called Down-Locking System, which securely locks the pump in place for shipping and seals the bottle. According to the company, this eliminates the need for bulky secondary packaging. Furthermore, the system is designed to help increase customer satisfaction and reduce returns due to damage.
E-commerce Reports Double-Digit Growth Rates
Similar to many consumer goods industries, the personal care sector is currently experiencing a shift towards sales through online channels. The US market research institute NPD states that online sales of prestige beauty in the US increased by 46 per cent in 2020. E-commerce sales account for more than half of the sales in the hair and skincare segment. The pandemic is also driving online retail in the other cosmetics and personal care categories.
Wide Range of Applications
HiFlow E-Commerce is metal-free and compatible with many formulations, according to Aptar. They also claim the design is suitable for use in the shower, as it reduces the entry of water. According to the company, the Down-Locking System has been tested in the company's in-house laboratory in accordance with ISTA-6 protocols. The pump system is currently available for use with 28/410 bottle necks. The system provides a 4 CC output.
