Italian supplier MKTG Industry has presented its Gea Refill series of refillable packaging solutions for skin care and make-up. According to the manufacturer, this packaging enables a 75 per cent reduction in the use of plastics.

Multiple Reuse

There are currently four packaging solutions for lipstick and make-up in the series. The outer plastic case is designed to be reused several times, the company explains. The inner plastic case is easy to remove and replace with a refill. The lid is made from paper-based materials.

3R Concept for Sustainable Packaging

With its new packaging series, the Italian cosmetics company aims to continue its 3R concept. The three Rs stand for Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The idea is to keep the use of plastics to a minimum by replacing them with paper-based materials wherever possible (reduce). Packaging is designed to be used several times and to last as long as possible (reuse). Finally, all components should be easy to separate and dispose of properly for recycling (recycle).
