Fragrances from the AI
Foodtech start-up NotCo and perfume manufacturer Cramer use artificial intelligence for a premium fragrance formulator
NotCo and Cramer recently announced the joint launch of a NotCo fragrance formulator. Their joint tool can fundamentally change fragrance development in various industries. NotCo's patented AI platform "Giuseppe" combines Cramer's database with thousands of raw materials used by perfumers to create finished formulations. The "Generative AI Fragrance Formulator" will make it extremely easy to create innovative, unique premium fragrances without human intervention and in a matter of seconds, the companies announced. Until now, their development has been very complex and resource-intensive.
Market-ready fragrances at the touch of a button
"We tested Giuseppe's ability to evoke emotion through scent and were thrilled with the initial results," says Aadit Patel, senior vice president of AI product development and engineering at NotCo, adding that the partnership with Cramer has enabled the AI to learn at an exponential pace. The new formulator can successfully produce customised fragrances for a variety of product categories. In a blind study, NotCo tested 13 AI fragrances with professional perfumers. The experts immediately approved several fragrances as "market-ready".
Discussions with cosmetics brands
"Our fragrances evoke memories and emotions, such as the nostalgic scent of Christmas, the freshness of a spring morning, the tranquillity of a beach at sunset and the vibrant atmosphere of summer parties," says Karim Pichara, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at NotCo in Chile. The hot start-up with a market valuation of 1.5 billion US dollars and the leading Latin American flavour and fragrance company Cramer are now in talks with major cosmetics and personal care brands and suppliers to bring the technology to market together.
