Business Location Germany strengthened
Procter & Gamble invests in Euskirchen and Crailsheim
Two reasons for the business location Germany to be happy about: Procter & Gamble is celebrating the expansion of its distribution center with the opening of the new fully automated high-bay warehouse on the company premises in Euskirchen. Additionally, the company is revolutionizing the site and the associated brands with a new combined transport terminal in Crailsheim.
High-tech warehouse in Euskirchen
Using the latest technologies and high-tech equipment, P&G's high-bay warehouse in Euskirchen now operates completely autonomously. From capacity management to the storage and retrieval process and pallet transportation, including robot technology, all processes within the building are now computer-controlled. P&G is thus significantly increasing productivity and delivery capacity in Euskirchen. The operation now complies with the company's strict sustainability guidelines.
Intermodal terminals in Crailsheim
With a total investment of over 6 million euros, P&G is further investing in its production and distribution site in Crailsheim. P&G is also expanding the intermodal transport of its brands such as Always, Ariel, Swiffer and Pampers by reopening the 600-metre-long rail line and building the combined transport terminal on the factory premises. The site also plays a central role as a logistics hub in the company's European distribution network.
Region takes on pioneering role
With the reactivated access to the rail network, Crailsheim is establishing the first European combined transport terminal on a P&G site and is thus taking on a pioneering role within P&G in Europe.
By shifting 6,000 to 10,000 trucks per year via rail, traffic on highways and local roads around Crailsheim will be relieved and CO2 emissions reduced.
