Glass packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer has teamed up with bio-based materials start-up Rezemo. The partners combine endlessly recyclable glass containers with the start-up's biodegradable and also recyclable material "forewood". The latter is made from wood fibres and biopolymers and is said to be particularly suitable for the production of closures. The partners see this as a promising alternative to conventional plastic closures.
