Bath time 2.0 with Bath Bot

Cosmetics giant Lush launches a digital bath bomb

The British cosmetics company Lush has spent several years developing a waterproof Bluetooth speaker with colour-changing LED lights for the bathroom. The digital ‘Lush bath bomb’ is intended to be reminiscent of the company's bath additive invention and offers a multi-sensory experience with 180-degree sound, emphasises Lush. The device is now also available in Germany. The waterproof Bath Bot speaker is available in black or white and costs 176 euros.

180-degree sound with bubble effect

When you switch it on, you hear birdsong accompanied by guitar sounds. The curved speaker then provides 180-degree sound and full-spectrum lights that bathe the bathroom in a spectacle of light. The bass of the floating Bluetooth speaker also creates a bubbling effect reminiscent of the fizz of a bath bomb. If the Bath Bot is paired with the Lush app, light effects and playlists can be created. The LEDs move to the beat of the music.

From mother to son

In 2022, the British tech and digital team at Lush had already presented an app with meditative content. Experts in wellbeing, healing and sound healing had developed meditations and relaxation music for it. The Bath Bot is now expanding the digital offering. The brain behind the idea is Jack Constantine, Chief Digital Officer and son of Lush CEO Mark Constantine. In 1989, his mother Mo invented the world's first bath bomb. Now she has inspired her son to create a digital version of the bubbling classic. ‘We believe that immersive, handmade products enrich lives,’ says Constantine. ‘The Bath Bot also follows this ethos.’ It also marks Lush's entry into new beauty technologies.

Recyclable and vegan

Since it was founded 30 years ago, Lush has consistently focussed on sustainability and ethical production. The company does not use animal testing and is actively committed to abolishing it. Every step of the Bath Bot process, from material selection to production, has been carefully examined to minimise environmental impact and maximise the product's lifespan. The speaker is manufactured in the UK. The product is recyclable and vegan, as the adhesive used in production does not contain animal fats as plasticisers.
