A new haircare extract launched by Mibelle is based on the "Yerba Santa" plant, which is part of the borage family (Boraginaceae). According to the manufacturer, "SantEnergy" has anti-ageing properties for hair, slowing the ageing of hair follicles and increasing both hair density and growth. It is said to act like caffeine for the follicles and protect them from oxidative stress.

The Healing Properties of Polyphenols

According to the company, "Yerba Santa" (Eriodictyon californicum) is also known as "mountain balm" or "sacred herb". It comes from North America's Pacific Coast and is predominantly found in California. Its leaves have traditionally been used to treat upper respiratory diseases and asthma. The literature also describes the plant as possessing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and neuroprotective properties. This is believed to stem from the polyphenol compounds in the plant.

Almost One Third More Hair Growth

According to Mibelle, the extract has the ability to boost hair growth in the anagen phase by 31.8 per cent, while reducing telogen hair by 20 per cent. The ingredient is liquid, water-soluble and preservative-free.
